Job Summary:

 

The Brand Ambassador Manager (BAM) is responsible for delivering vision, direction, and leadership through excellence in communication, planning, implementation and execution of Brown Forman's (BF) brand standards within all channels. This position manages a team of Emerging Brands Brand Ambassadors and maintains alignment on the direction and vision within all channels. The BAM assists in the recruiting, hiring, training, and long-term development of the Emerging Brands Brand Ambassadors. The BAM provides best practice sharing and field level brand knowledge to their team. The BAM's team of Ambassadors will act as trade/consumer liaisons with a focus on increasing brand advocacy, consumer engagement, and trade education for Brown-Forman's emerging brands.

Primary Responsibilities/Activities:

 

Training and Development:

 

  • Train and further develop strong teams that possess smarts, passion, creativity, leadership, and excellent communication skills
  • Manage daily activities of both teams for BF and analyze performance of the team in all markets
  • Interface with IT on accountability measurements
  • Utilize scorecard and evaluation process (both automated and proactive)

 

Report Processing and Development:

 

  • BAM Reports
    • Scheduled Evaluations
    • Tertile Reviews
    • In Market Work-With Recaps
    • Monthly Brand Ambassador Manager Report

 

  • Ambassador Reports
    • Monthly Marketing Recaps
    • Division Highlights
    • Competitive Insights
    • Budget Summary

 

Program Analysis and Oversight:

 

  • Conduct in-market visits and on-site audits of Ambassador's tactical execution and performance
  • Ensure adherence to Supplier Compliance Policies
  • Conduct personnel responsibilities, including scorecard and performance evaluations

 

Oversee Team Responsibilities:

 

  • Planning and Implementation:
    • Link brand strategy, brand communication, and brand promise to experiential/episodic consumer and trade education
    • Deliver brand messages to field level, ensuring that strategy is communicated and understood
    • Lead buildout of Ambassador Individual Performance Objectives (IPOs). Gain alignment with all channels
    • Ensure the development of SMART goals
  • Communication:
    • Provide constant communication with BF marketing/brand and field sales
    • Provide constant feedback on execution results to Greenhouse VP of Account Service: Brown-Forman Programs
    • Share best practices throughout entire Emerging Brands Ambassador team
  • Tactical/Event Execution Excellence:
    • Drive execution of brand messages
    • Ensure activations/experiences are innovative and professional
    • Maintain constant communication to VP, Division Portfolio Manager, BF Integration Directors and Field Marketing Managers
    • Provide insight on Ambassador's performance evaluations (scorecards)
    • Ensure Ambassadors are compliant with state and/or federal regulations

 

Dashboard Management:

 

  • House all IPOs and financial reporting
  • Ensure all activity is logged into the Dashboard:
    • Account Activity
    • Competitive Research
    • IPOs
    • Expenses
    • All Field Activity

 

Budget Management:

 

  • Ensure that Ambassadors are properly utilizing budget allocation
  • Manage BAM travel, Travel & Expense, and team training budgets
  • Ensure Ambassadors submit expenses accurately and timely with applicable receipts

 


Minimum Requirements:

 

  • 2 years brand experience with strategic implementation, planning, and communication
  • 2 years promotional marketing experience with consumer activation and agency management
  • Ability to travel 50% or more and work unconventional hours
  • Strong leadership characteristics and the ability to take ownership of a project and his/her role
  • Ability to assimilate knowledge, sort out the useful from the superfluous, and then make an appropriate response or chart a successful course of action
  • Ability to understand and align with brand strategy and 'big picture' thinking
  • Ability to understand each employee's needs, talents and goals; use this insight when developing individual management strategies
  • Excellent organization and communication skills

Position Financials (Annual): 

 

Base Salary: $ 60,000 – $ 70,000
Bonus Opportunity: $ 10,000
Communication Allowance: $ 3,000
