Payroll Coordinator – Irvine, CA

Job Summary:

The Payroll Coordinator supports the Finance, Payroll, and Operations of the company. This team player reports to the Finance Director, works closely with Finance Managers, and oversees the Finance Interns. He/She is responsible for general finance administration and support. The Payroll Coordinator will gain experience preparing and interpreting financial reports and hone their financial analysis skills. The Payroll Coordinator provides timely communication and customer service to all internal and external contacts. Accountability and efficiency are key to this individual's work style.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and approves timesheets submitted by Greenhouse Promotion Specialists (PSs) and managers; researches and reconciles discrepancies
  • Addresses employee payroll inquiries
  • Processes final checks for terminations
  • Assists Finance Director with managing individual employee budgets and program budgets
  • Updates annual Profit and Loss report with monthly figures to track financial trends
  • Monitors and assists with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Provides general finance and payroll administrative support
  • Reconciles monthly bank and credit card statements
  • Trains and manages Finance interns
  • Supports Finance Director with requests and projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • 1-2 years of Payroll and/or Finance experience
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel with an understanding of how to create Pivot Tables, formulas, and manage budgets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Able to prioritize and delegate efficiently
  • Strong analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using QuickBooks
  • Experience processing payroll in multi-state company

Position Financials (Annual):

Base Salary: $ 40,000 – $ 50,000
